Hope Center HOPE STARTS HERE. The Hope Center is Lexington’s leading resource for recovery, shelter, housing, and support. That’s true, but it’s so much more.

We serve those facing addiction, homelessness, and crisis with dignity and hope. Since 1993, the Hope Center’s mission has been to care for those experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, and mental illness by providing life-sustaining and life-rebuilding services that are comprehensive and address underlying causes. The Hope Center is widely known as a homeless shelter. It’s not enough to only provide the homeless in our community with a place to get off the street; we must also provide them with the tools they need to stay off the street. The root causes of homelessness vary widely. That is why our programs are so important. Each person who enters our doors is valuable and unique. Our goal is to provide each one with the tools they need to rebuild their lives.

Hope means showing up for people. 💙

Sometimes that looks like serving a meal, giving your time, sharing your skills, or helping someone feel seen on a hard day.

Every act of care matters more than we realize. One moment of kindness can remind someone they’re not alone, their story still matters, and their next step is still possible.

The Hope Center’s work is built by people who choose to show up with compassion, support, and hope.

Ready to be part of that? Visit hopectr.org to learn how you can get involved.

Hope can change more than one part of a person’s life.

It can mean having a safe place to sleep tonight and a path toward stable housing tomorrow. It can mean finding recovery, getting back to work, rebuilding relationships, improving your health, and finding a community of people who believe in you.

That’s why the work at the Hope Center reaches far beyond meeting an immediate need. From emergency shelter and basic needs to recovery, housing, employment, and ongoing support, we’re here to help people take the next step toward a more stable future.

For some, that starts with a meal. For others, it starts with a bed, a conversation, or the decision to ask for help.

Wherever it starts, hope can lead somewhere life-changing. 🫶

You don’t have to wait until “someday” to start making a difference in your community. 💙

The 1993 Club was created to make giving simple, meaningful, and consistent for the next generation of Hope Center supporters.

For $19.93 a month, you can help provide dependable support for the work happening across Lexington every day, from safe shelter and warm meals to recovery support, housing, education, and the resources that help our neighbors take their next step forward.

Why $19.93? In 1993, the Hope Center opened its Emergency Shelter. More than three decades later, that mission has grown, and the next generation has an opportunity to help carry it forward.

$19.93 a month. Real impact all year long.

A meal can mean so much more than food. 💙

For someone experiencing homelessness or working to rebuild their life, a warm meal can offer comfort, consistency, dignity, and the reminder that someone in their community cares.

At the Hope Center, a meal can also be a starting point. It can be the moment someone feels seen, the beginning of a connection, or one small step toward the support and resources they need to move forward.

Your support helps us continue putting meals on the table and hope within reach for our neighbors across Lexington.

Help us serve more than meals. Help us serve hope. Get involved today at the 🔗 in our bio.

🍂🎃 Fall Fun at One Parent Scholar House! 🎃🍂

Last Friday, our OPSH families enjoyed an evening filled with fall festivities, sweet treats, and unforgettable memories!

A HUGE thank you to Kappa Alpha Pi, the Pre-Law & Government Professional Fraternity at UK, for bringing the fun to life! With more than 20 volunteers helping plan, set up, and run the festival, our kiddos enjoyed ring toss, lollipop pull, candy apples, co****le, face painting, colorful hair spray, a photobooth, pumpkin decorating, and so much more! Families also enjoyed delicious food, candy counting games, a pumpkin patch, and a community wide Trunk or Treat. 🍬🍁

We are incredibly grateful to the community partners who helped make this event extra special:

💙 University of Kentucky Pharmacy
💙 Family Care Center
💙 HANDS
💙 Bluegrass Families First
💙 Mount Olivet Baptist Church
💙 Goodwill Opportunity Center
💙 Greater Kentucky Credit Union
💙 Lexington Fire Department
💙 Streets and Roads, who brought two pieces of machinery for the children to explore
💙 Open Door Church, who treated families to s'mores and temporary tattoos at their trunk

Thank you to every organization, volunteer, and community member who gave their time, resources, and hearts to make this event possible! Your generosity created a wonderful evening of laughter, connection, and fall magic for our OPSH families. 🍂❤️

At One Parent Scholar House, it's about more than housing. It's about building community, creating memories, and supporting families as they work toward a brighter future.
