🚒 Mutual Aid Response

Earlier this evening, October 17, 2026, South Lexington Fire Department Engine 46 responded to assist Central Fire Department Station 37 with a vehicle fire on Becks Church Road.

We appreciate our neighboring departments and the teamwork that goes into providing fire protection and emergency services to our communities. Mutual aid allows departments to work together and provide additional resources when needed.

Last week we proudly hosted a meeting with Davidson County Schools’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department! Our Chief is honored to serve on the Advisory Board and our department looks forward to building stronger connections with our local schools, engaging with the youth in our community, and supporting career pathways that prepare the next generation for success. Together, we’re investing in our community’s future! 🚒🎓

South Lexington Fire Department extends our heartfelt condolences following the line of duty death of Durham Firefighter Andrew Brokes.

Firefighter Brokes served with dedication and honor, including time with the Efland, Elon, and Swepsonville fire departments. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fellow firefighters, and the entire Durham community during this difficult time.

We also wish the two firefighters injured in the incident a full and speedy recovery.

We stand alongside our brothers and sisters across North Carolina as we honor Firefighter Brokes and his ultimate sacrifice. He will not be forgotten.

Rest easy, Brother. We’ll take it from here. 🖤🚒

🚨 INCIDENT ALERT 🚨

Engine 46 and Brush 46 responded to assist Southmont Fire Department with a large outside fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a field burning with fire that had spread to an abandoned outbuilding. Crews quickly worked to bring the fire under control and extinguish the fire that had extended into the structure.

Great work by all of the responding departments working together to quickly control and extinguish the fire.

A big Thank You to the Airlink Vitalink staff for making this a great night of training for our members.

A beautiful night for Landing Zone training with South Lexington Fire Department.
Our AirLink team had a great evening working alongside local firefighters, reviewing landing zone safety and the important role our fire and EMS partners play when bringing the aircraft into a scene.
We always appreciate the opportunity to train together, build relationships, and put faces with the voices we hear on the radio. Thank you, South Lexington Fire, for having us out and for a great night of training!
