Lexington is hard to put your finger on. Certainly not Northern. We’re not the Midwest, rural or urban, big or small, too busy or too boring. Instead of your typical vacation hotspot, Lexington is more like the sweet spot. We like to carve out our own comfort zone and invite you, the curious traveler, to discover unexpectedly cool new experiences at your own pace. Think of Lexington as a front porch kind of city. A place to unwind in comfort and style, where everyone is welcome. A place to gather with friends and family, put your feet up, sip a glass of bourbon, and savor an unforgettable meal. A place where breathtaking natural beauty like bluegrass hills and stunning Thoroughbreds lives just a stone’s throw from the vibrant culture and exciting nightlife of a walkable downtown. It’s a place you can return to again and again. Explore the very best of the Bluegrass State right here in Lexington—The Horse Capital of the World. There’s always room on the porch for one more.

Keeneland is full of special moments, and some of the best happen off the track.

Tucked away in the heart of the barn area, the Keeneland Track Kitchen offers a cafeteria-style dining experience in an unassuming building filled with vintage racing photos. Here, visitors can share a table with jockeys, trainers and owners for a glimpse into the everyday life of Horse Country.

Open year-round, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a different side of Keeneland.

More than 50 jockey silks, each designed and hand-painted by a Kentucky artist, are on display at Gatton Park. Together, these works transform Gatton Park into an art gallery for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Gatton Park will kick off Breeders’ Cup Festival Week with Purple in the Park! this Sunday, October 25, from 2 - 5pm. Then, on October 30 & 31, join us for the city’s biggest Breeders’ Cup Championship watch party, featuring a giant LED screen.

Stay tuned as we share more ways to celebrate Breeders’ Cup Festival Week with the entire Lexington community.
