October 4-10 is Banned Books Week! Did you know that 2025 had the highest rate of censorship challenges since 1990? In 2025, the reported 5,668 books banned from libraries and nearly 1,000 more censored.

Books help us see ourselves, discover new perspectives, and even travel the world โ€” without ever leaving our favorite reading spot. At LPL, weโ€™re passionate about expanding knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and celebrating the freedom to read.

Join us in honoring Banned Books Week by exploring frequently challenged books in our catalog or on Libby.
