Tonight, we were honored to join the Mayor and City Council as they officially proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month and recognized the importance of personal and community preparedness in building a more resilient Liberty Hill.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Mayor and City Council for their support and commitment to preparedness throughout our community.

During tonight's meeting, we were also proud to present our achievement of being recognized as by the National Weather Service. This designation reflects our dedication to planning, communication, and readiness before severe weather strikes.

This accomplishment would not be possible without the strong partnerships and collaboration among the Liberty Hill Police Department, Public Works, City leadership, and staff across all departments. Being prepared and becoming is truly a team effort.

As we recognize National Preparedness Month, we encourage everyone to take steps to prepare themselves, their families, and their neighbors for emergencies. Together, we can continue building a safer, stronger, and more resilient Liberty Hill.

✅ Discuss emergency procedures with children and older family members

Burn Ban Status

Despite the recent rainfall, our area is still under an Active Burn Ban.

For the safety of your property, your neighbors, and our responders, DO NOT BURN at this time. Thank you for doing your part to reduce fire risk.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court has issued a county-wide burn ban effective Tuesday, August 18, 2026, for a period not to exceed 90 days due to severe drought conditions. The order can be lifted by the Commissioners Court or County Judge if conditions improve.

A person violates this order if they burn any combustible material outside of an enclosure which serves to contain all flames and/or sparks, or orders such burning by others. The burn ban prohibits the burning of household yard waste, such as leaves, grass, brush and other yard trimmings. It also prohibits burning to clear land of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation. This order may be enforced by any duly-commissioned peace officer. It is a Class C Misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine up to $500.
