Today, Lillian Fire Rescue said farewell to Lt. Dewhurst as she begins an exciting new chapter in North Dakota with her soon to be husband. Lt. Dewhurst joined Lillian Fire Rescue in 2019 at just 14 years old and has spent the last seven years growing up alongside our department and serving our community.

Thank you for your years of dedication and service, Lt. Dewhurst! 🚒🧑‍🚒

Saturday Spotlight: LT. Gleason! 🔥
This week, we’re highlighting LT. Gleason, who has been serving in the fire service since 2014. For him, it’s always been about helping people when they need it most and being part of a firehouse family that shares that same purpose. When he’s not answering calls with Lillian Fire Rescue, you might find him somewhere between Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, or Tennessee behind the wheel of his truck, or, most importantly, spending time with his son, girlfriend, and family.

We’re proud to have LT. Gleason as part of the Lillian Fire Rescue family! 🚒❤️

It’s Drill Tuesday! Tonight’s training was packed with important skills. We started with a debrief from our recent structure fire, covered operational expectations, foam application & drafting techniques followed by EMR skills refresher.

Of course, we kicked things off with dinner at 5:30 before drill began at 6! Interested in joining Lillian Fire Rescue? Come have dinner with us next Tuesday, meet the crew & see what a Tuesday night at the station is all about. No experience needed. We’ll provide the training! 💪🏼🔥

Saturday Spotlight: Captain Monroy!
Captain Monroy has been serving in the fire service since 1999, and we’re lucky to have his experience and dedication here at Lillian Fire Rescue. For him, one of the best parts of LFR is simple: the family, brotherhood, and sisterhood.

When he’s not at the station, you’ll find him working at Home Depot, running his lawn care business, or spending time with his wife of 26 years, Dede, and their dog, Benny. Thank you, Captain Monroy, for your many years of service and for being part of our Lillian Fire Rescue family! 🚒🔥

Yesterday, Lillian Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in our community alongside Town of Elberta Volunteer Fire Department, Josephine Volunteer Fire Department , Perdido Beach Volunteer Fire Department , and Escambia County Fire Rescue.

We are incredibly thankful to all of the responding departments for their teamwork and assistance, and especially proud of our Lillian firefighters who showed up in force and worked together throughout the incident. Unfortunately, this fire also came with a heartbreaking loss. Our thoughts are with the family as they navigate the days ahead.

Thank you to every firefighter and responder who answered the call and worked together for our community. 🚒❤️
