🚨🔥 FALL FIRE SEASON 🔥🚨
Fall fire season began October 1st marks the beginning of Kentucky’s Fall Forest Fire Hazard Season, which runs through December 15th.
During this period, Kentucky law places important restrictions on outdoor burning:
NO OPEN BURNING BETWEEN 6:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M.
Outdoor burning within 150 feet of woodland or brushland is prohibited during those hours. Burning is permitted during the restricted season only between 6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M., subject to other applicable restrictions.
Please remember: Local ordinances, county burn bans, weather conditions, and other restrictions may impose additional limitations on outdoor burning. Always check before you burn.
Help us prevent wildfires!
If you are burning, make sure your fire is properly prepared, continuously attended, and completely extinguished before leaving it. Keep burn piles small, maintain a cleared area around the fire, and have water and a shovel readily available.
A small burn can quickly become a large wildfire.
What starts as a simple burn pile can threaten homes, property, forests, and the firefighters who respond to these incidents.
PLEASE — THINK BEFORE YOU BURN!
DON’T LET YOUR BURN PILE START A WILDFIRE!
