Perry Township Fire Department was on standby at the Allen County Regional Airport during the Vice President’s visit, helping ensure emergency services were readily available throughout the event.

We appreciate the assistance and coordination of Allen County EMA, Shawnee Township Fire Department, and American Township Fire Department. We would also like to extend a special thank-you to Westminster Rural Fire Dept. for allowing us to use their medic unit, enabling us to staff three Advanced Life Support (ALS) medic units during the detail.

Thank you to all agencies involved for working together to support emergency preparedness and provide coverage for our community.

Fire Safety Week is still going strong!
Today, PTFD was out in the community visiting The Learning Tree for a fire safety presentation, where the kids got a closer look at some of the tools and equipment we use every day.

We also spent time at Perry Elementary during lunch, connecting with students and even getting out on the playground with them. We always enjoy getting the opportunity to spend time with our Perry Commodores and make fire safety fun while building those relationships with our community.

Asst. EMS Chief Hedges spoke today at the Rotary Club of Lima’s luncheon. She was able to highlight all the exciting things we have prepared for Fire Prevention Week.

This is Fire Prevention Week. Brooke Hedges from the Perry Township Fire Department told us that everyone should make sure their home has working smoke detectors and that everyone in your home and business knows what to do in case of fire..

Happy Fire Prevention Week! This morning, our crews were busy welcoming Perry students to school. In the afternoon, we visited the 2nd grade to do a safety talk and fire gear demo! Our Commodores are so smart about fire safety!

We had an exciting visit from Perry kindergarten and first graders today! Our little Commodores spent the day reviewing fire safety with our crew! We are so excited for all we have planned at the school next week!!

As October begins, please remember that Ohio’s outdoor burning restrictions are in effect. Along with normal open burning laws, no open burning is permitted from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Please burn safely and follow all Ohio burn regulations.

Fire Department Staff, Township Trustees and Perry PD had a blast helping with Perry School’s first Homecoming Parade! The school spirit was blazing on Breese Road.

25 years later, we continue to remember the lives lost and the families forever changed by that day. We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with the police officers, EMS providers, military members, and civilians who lost their lives.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to others will never be forgotten.
