Prayers for the family. Happening in our own jurisdiction please keep all who worked the incident and all who knew Officer Bartlett in your prayers as well. Rest in peace brother. We have the watch.

Our team experienced a great loss yesterday evening when Corrections Investigator Ross Bartlett died in a multiple-vehicle crash near Ceresco. In addition to his work at NDCS, Ross also served as a Ceresco police officer, and the accident occurred while he was on duty as a police officer.

Ross joined NDCS in 2017, and he also served multiple communities across our state during his 30-year career as a certified law enforcement officer.

Ross was committed to the agency in many ways, but especially when he set out to recruit out-of-state candidates to relocate to Nebraska and work at NDCS in 2022. He made many efforts to connect with candidates, share about his experiences working at NDCS, and follow up with them after they were hired to ensure they had the resources they needed to be successful in our agency.

Ross will be deeply missed.

Several members of the Sheriff's Office will be attending Police Week in Washington DC. The event is May 14th through May 20th. Deputy Troy Bailey's name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Deputy Bailey died September 11, 2020. Troy is missed very much by his loved ones and co-workers. Troy was a known practical joker, a fierce friend, proud father and sheepdog of a law enforcement officer. Please keep his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers as his name is memorialized this week.
