🚗 The AARP Smart Driver Course will be held on Friday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Aging Partners Victory Park Center, 600 S. 70th St.

The course will teach you helpful driving strategies, and you may even qualify for a multi-year discount on your auto insurance.

The cost for the course is $25 payable by cash or check on the day of the event or $20 for AARP members. To register for the course and reserve lunch, call Ben at 402-441-7154.

You may reserve lunch (two business days before class) through the center. Cost for lunch is a $5 suggested contribution for age 60 and over, and a $10 fee for under age 60.

Lunch Menu October 19-23

- Monday, October 19: Turkey and cheese on a croissant, Chicken and wild rice soup, Raw veggies with dip, Cherries
- Tuesday, October 20: Chicken Alfredo, Breadstick, Broccoli, Applesauce
- Wednesday, October 21: Tilapia, Hush puppies, Three bean salad, Fresh fruit
- Thursday, October 22: Beef stew, Cornbread, Peas, Apricots, Cake
- Friday, October 23: Beef taco salad with tomatoes and cheese, Tortilla chips, Guacamole, Salsa, Fruit

Meals are served daily at Belmont Senior Center (inside Belmont Rec Center, 1234 Judson St.), Northeast Senior Center (6310 Platte Ave.), Victory Park Senior Center (600 S. 70th St.) and Washington Street Senior Center (inside Grace Lutheran Church, 2225 Washington St.). Lunch is served Mondays at Firth Senior Center (311 Nemaha St., Firth), Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bennet Senior Center (American Legion Hall, 970 Monroe St., Bennet) and Wednesdays at Hickman Senior Center (Community Center, 115 Locust St., Hickman)

$5 meal suggested contribution for age 60 and over
$10 meal fee for under age 60
$5 transportation suggested contribution for age 60 and over

We hosted more than 30 incredible cars and their owners at Victory Park and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful morning! Thank you to all the owners and community members who came out to our car show. It was a blast reminiscing about first cars and favorite rides.

Open enrollment is the time each year when Medicare participants can review and make changes to their prescription drug coverage. Between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7, 2026, Medicare prescription drug plans announce any new changes to their plans for 2027, giving participants the opportunity to adjust their coverage based on those changes.

Aging Partners Medicare assistant appointments are currently filled but help is available. For personalized assistance comparing plans or enrolling, Nebraska SHIP offers free, unbiased counseling by appointment at 1-800-234-7119.
