We are just one week away from our Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution. Hundreds of families have already requested help for the holidays, indicating that our community has an incredible need. This month began with a 40% increase in requests for help, and we predict that the increase will sustain throughout the holiday season.

We all know how stressful the holidays can be. But we cannot overlook the fact that many families are unable to celebrate the holidays this year due to financial stress. We can offer the simple gift of a holiday meal, which makes an extraordinary impact in each of their lives.

The Salt Mine is committed to ensuring no one in our community misses out on the holidays. We need your generosity to fulfill this mission. We have the plan in place and we have the volunteers; the last and biggest piece of the puzzle is your generosity. Give families the hope of holiday cheer by donating today. 🍓 Today a pallet of fresh strawberries and assorted produce was distributed to our neighbors in need! We love being able to provide fresh food. It’s because of your generosity that we are able to continue to meet the needs of our community with vital food resources.

The Salt Mine is celebrating our 40th anniversary by giving back to our community! We are seeking $4,000 in new, monthly recurring donations. These new recurring donations will help sustain us into the future and allow us to have stability moving forward.

As we enter the summer months, we are also facing the most difficult time of year for The Salt Mine. The Food Closet is facing financial crisis—families need more food more often, utility bills double, fuel costs increase, and holiday funding has dried up. The Salt Mine has always been funded by private monetary donations, which means that we survive by the goodwill of our neighbors and donors. We need you, our generous friends and donors, to help The Salt Mine meet our current, daily financial needs. While we are seeking new monthly donations to help us move into a more sustainable and stable place, we are also desperate for one-time donations to help meet the needs of the summer months.

We are currently looking for $40,000 to meet our summer financial needs. The Salt Mine has survived and thrived on the generosity of our community. We are relying on you, our neighbors and donors, to come through again so that we can continue to feed the hungry in Lincoln and Sheridan.
