On Tuesday, Burke and Hannah joined a small group of Capitol colleagues on a legislative day trip to Winnebago. Many, many thanks to our wonderful hosts with the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and Little Priest Tribal College! We learned about the history and culture of the Ho-Chunk people, discovered exciting new developments at LPTC on a campus tour, explored the Angel DeCora Museum, and enjoyed incredible dance and drum performances by the kids.
Not pictured: the *delicious* lunch of traditional corn soup, fry bread, and nuts and berries. We were too busy eating to take photos.

We received some very sad news this morning. Our colleague, Don Wesely, passed away last night. In January, Don stepped back from lobbying every day to start his transition to retirement. He constantly talked about how much he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren. He leaves behind his children, Sarah, Ashton, and Andrew, his longtime partner, Michele Casanova and his dear grandchildren, Evie and Ezra.
We will miss his experience, diligence and especially his friendship.
