Yesterday, the IRR Disaster Response Team began wrapping up their work in Omaha as the deployment nears its end. Today, the team is finishing up the remaining work sites before returning to Union.

Once back on campus, the team will begin cleaning, decontaminating, and putting away equipment to prepare for future deployments.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this response through prayers, donations, and encouragement. Thank you for making it possible for our team to serve families affected by the flooding!

As of yesterday, our teams have completed cleanup efforts in 14 homes, while our command staff has visited over 100 homes and conducted 25 damage assessments. This work has saved homeowners thousands of dollars in cleanup costs, providing much-needed relief to families, many of whom did not have insurance coverage for this type of disaster. As our response efforts continue, we are incredibly grateful for your prayers, generosity, and donations that make it possible for us to serve families in need!

The IRR Disaster Response Team has made significant progress, with three homes now fully cleaned out. Our teams continue to work diligently alongside homeowners, helping remove damaged belongings and clear out soaked drywall.

IRR is also working alongside the Red Cross to provide aid to those impacted by the flooding. The Red Cross is providing free meals and connecting homeowners with additional resources, while our teams are helping survivors clean up and begin the process of moving forward.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Your generosity and encouragement are making a difference as we continue serving those affected.

During lunch today, we had the opportunity to catch up with Mina, who shared how her team has been making a difference by helping muck out and gut the home of a man affected by the recent flooding.

The team worked very hard today and successfully removed all water-damaged belongings and materials, allowing the home to begin drying out so the rebuilding process can begin.

Response Update: The IRR Disaster Response Team arrived on scene around 9:00 a.m. this morning, and our crews immediately began making contact with homeowners and getting to work at several sites.

The cleanup work has included debris removal, drywall and carpet removal, and cleaning out confined crawlspaces damaged by the flooding. Our students have also been going door to door to check on homeowners and identify additional needs.

Since arriving this morning, our teams have made contact with an estimated 9 homeowners, with 3 additional work orders identified. Our crews will continue working with homeowners and responding to additional needs as they are identified.

Please continue to keep the Omaha community, those affected by the flooding, and our response teams in your prayers.

If you’d like to support our disaster relief efforts, donations help provide the equipment, supplies, and resources our crews need to continue serving families affected by the flooding. Every contribution helps us respond where we’re needed most.
