Speaker Adams has scheduled LB 308 with the pending motion for reconsideration for no later than 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20. The agenda provides that the Legislature will be considering bills on Final Reading before considering LB 308. Senators are not allowed to come out of the Chamber during Final Reading, so we need to make every effort to contact key Senators Monday before noon, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
If you know any of the following 23 Senators who voted in favor of the Chambers’ motion, please contact them ASAP to encourage them to NOT SUPPORT the motion for reconsideration or other efforts by Sen. Chambers to repeal the half-cent sales tax authority:
Adams, Ashford, Bloomfield, Bolz, Brasch, Carlson, Chambers, Christensen, Conrad, Cook, Hansen, Howard, Janssen, Karpisek, Kintner, Krist, Larson, Mello, Murante, Pirsch, Price, Schumacher and Watermeier.
Nebraska taxpayers deserve to have some control over their sales taxes and being able to invest in the things that make our communities and state exceptional.

Editorial, 4/16: Support local control : Opinion Let's get one thing straight. If the legislature votes to override Gov. Dave Heineman's veto of LB357, it won't raise anyone's local sales taxes.
Contact the Speaker of the Unicameral Senator Greg Adams and let him know that you support LOCAL CONTROL. Ask for his vote against Senator Chambers attempt to run LOCAL decisions.
