January 22, 2025 (12:30-2:00 PM CT)
January 29th, 2025 (9:00-10:30 AM CT)
With high rates of youth su***de, schools must be prepared to promptly and effectively intervene with all suicidal behavior. Screening youth at risk for suicidality can be an effective way of detecting and managing su***de risk. The training includes an overview of best intervention practices and supports, including using two risk screeners, the SBQ-R and the Columbia.

Preparing School Staff for Effectively Assisting with Re-entry Following a Su***de-Related Absence
November 19, 2024, 9:00-10:30 CT
November 20, 2024, 12:30-2:00 CT
Why should schools be concerned? A student who threatened or attempted su***de is at a far greater risk of another su***de attempt in the weeks immediately following the crisis.
Why is training needed? Schools often lack clear protocols, and staff feel unprepared
to support a student or colleague returning to school following suicidal behavior.
What will training include?
This training assists staff in knowing what to look for and how to provide support for successful re-entry, including:
Checklist for developing re-entry procedures
Safety re-entry plans
Teacher tips for supporting students
