Today marks the 10th annual Hospitals Against Violence Friday, focusing on the importance of coming together as a community against violence. Health care workers are now assaulted more than any profession outside law enforcement. That's not acceptable. And hospitals are committed to changing it, beginning with how to identify and respond to threats before they escalate.

If you want to know what a great rural health leader looks like, look no further than Kyle Kellum. As CEO of Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow, he has spent his career proving that a hospital's zip code shouldn’t dictate the quality of its care. Originally from Montana, he started his career helping patients on the clinical side in radiology and has now served in rural health care for more than two decades. Kyle brings that passion to the NHA Board, where he has been a champion for maternal care and a leading voice on the Rural Health Transformation Program.
We are grateful for Kyle's dedication to keeping Nebraska healthy.
