This week is Healthcare Food Service Workers Week, a week dedicated to recognizing the dietary and nutrition professionals that work in healthcare facilities. Our dietary departments at our veterans’ homes play a critical role in caring for our members – they keep them fed! This week and every week we’re grateful for the folks working in our dietary departments who serve those who served our country. Our dietary team at the Central Nebraska Veterans’ Home gathered together to take a photo and be recognized earlier this week.

Earlier today NDVA and the Nebraska National Guard signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a state veterans service officer at Joint Force Headquarters. This SVSO will assist soldiers and airmen separating from the NENG, as well as other veterans, in applying for veterans benefits for which they are eligible.
