Since our founding in 1982, we’ve been focused on our mission to alleviate hunger in Southeast Nebraska. From sun up to sun down (and even longer), our dedicated team and partner agencies work together to put food on the tables of neighbors in need, right here at home. We serve 16 counties in Southeast Nebraska. They are: Polk, York, Fillmore, Thayer, Butler, Seward, Saline, Jefferson, Saunders, Lancaster, Gage, Otoe, Johnson, Pawnee, Nemaha and Richardson. "Like" our page to keep up with the work we do in the community. In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, (including gender identity and sexual orientation), age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. Our friends from the Kiwanis Club of Seward hosted an incredible Empty Bowls Luncheon this past Tuesday!

Funds raised from this delicious event will help support the BackPack Program, ensuring that 80 students in Seward County Schools go home each Friday with nutritious food to carry them through the weekend.

Consistent access to healthy food is crucial to success in the classroom and beyond. Our team was delighted to attend and share in the power of compassion, collaboration and a well-made soup or two 🥣

Thanks to both their financial gift and their volunteer service on the day, almost 200 households received direct food assistance. This support comes in addition to their monthly volunteer efforts!

We're seeking several stellar volunteers as we gear up for the holiday season!

If you've ever wanted to get involved in our hunger alleviation work, check out these opportunities:
🚙Home Delivery Driver
🧡Home Deliveries help ensure neighbors who are homebound have access to food resources. Using personal vehicles, volunteers pick up grocery bags at the Food Bank and deliver directly to the homes of Lincoln neighbors. We're looking for someone available to complete these deliveries every Wednesday morning from 10-11:30 a.m.

📞Front Desk Volunteers
🧡We're looking for a few volunteers to assist with front desk coverage on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These temporary opportunities will run through December. We do not expect an individual to take all three shifts, but do ask that interested folks commit to the same shift each week through the end of the year. Primary responsibilities will include greeting guests, answering phone calls and various administrative projects.

The 2026 Corporate Games blew us away!

Thanks to 34 incredible companies, we collected more than 23,000 pounds of food to distribute to our neighbors. That’s 5,000 pounds more than last year & over 20,000 meals 🎉

And a special thanks to Omaha Steaksfor once again pledging to match every pound donated, up to $10,000. Their generous donation strengthens the impact and provides more support for individuals and families across Southeast Nebraska.

🎃🍈We'll be distributing food at the following locations this week, October 12-17.

🚨We'll be closed today (10/12) in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day, but we'll be back tomorrow (10/13).

🚨Fairmont friends! From now on, our Fairmont mobile distribution will take place at Fairmont Public Library (600 F Street) instead of the American Legion.

Through the Second Step Foundation, Interstate Power Systems collaborates with their fellow Interstate Companies, Inc. branches to assist and support local food access organizations.
