Lancaster County Engineering crews have been working hard this week to inspect, evaluate, and repair roads that were overtopped by water after Wednesday night's storm. County Engineer Pam Dingman has been able to approve re-opening 26 of the previously closed roads for travel, leaving only five that the County will continue to monitor out of an abundance of caution.
Four of the remaining closed areas are located in the northeast quadrant of the county, where rainfall was most intense:
Agnew Rd. between N. 134th and N. 112th St.
Ashland Rd. between 70th St. and 84th St.
Davey Rd. between 141st St.. and 162nd St.
Greenwood Rd. between N. 176th St. and 190th St.
Drainage from surrounding areas resulted in one closure this morning, in the southwest quadrant of the county, impacting W. Panama Rd. between SW 128th and SW 142nd.
While most of the water impacting roads will recede over the weekend, the County Engineer still recommends drivers remain alert to potential hazards and contact Lancaster County Engineering at 402-441-7681 to report any new flooded roads or concerns about bridges or other roadway structures.
Stay safe!
