Yesterday was a first for Lincoln County Conservation District we held a Watershed Field Day. USD 298 & USD 299 shared their students for some education. Started our adventure off in the community center of Hunter, Kansas. Sara Diamond from the State Association of Kansas watersheds kicked our morning off. We then broke into 4 presenters presentations. Could have done this without those partners. Wet walnut Creek watershed District in Lacrosse KS; The Kansas water Office; NRCS dam safety engineer; Kansas wildlife and parks. Business sponsors were Spillman Watershed District #43 and Bennington State Bank. The afternoon was a guided outline from NRCS & Pheasant Forever biologist to a watershed dam located in the area. Wrapping the warm October day with new knowledge and understanding of conservation. Enjoy some pictures from our day.
