!! Road closure on 5th Street !!

Beginning Wednesday morning on October 28th, the eastbound lane of 5th Street Road will be closed for pavement removal operations. This work will take place between the west entrance of Westminster Dr. to just west of the railroad crossing. The intersection at Memorial Park Road will remain open so traffic can turn west to Connolley Rd to detour the closure. Traffic will only be permitted to travel westbound, no eastbound traffic will be allowed through the closed area.

For residents in the subdivisions will need to detour back around and travel west on 5th to re-enter the neighborhood there should be no eastbound traffic at anytime during this closure.

🌾 HARVEST SEASON IS HERE! 🚜

As farmers across Logan County head into the fields, you’ll likely see more tractors, combines, grain carts, and other farm equipment traveling on our roadways.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to slow down, stay alert, and be patient when approaching farm equipment. Many of these vehicles are large, slow-moving, and may need to make wide turns or take up more than one lane.

🚜 For motorists:
• Slow down when approaching farm equipment.
• Give farm vehicles plenty of space.
• Only pass when it is safe and legal to do so.
• Watch for slow-moving vehicle signs and flashing lights.
• Stay focused and avoid distractions.

🚨 SCAM ALERT — SCAMMERS IMPERSONATING LOGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE OFFICERS 🚨

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is once again receiving reports of fraudulent phone calls targeting local residents. This scam has now escalated, with callers impersonating an actual officer from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Callers are telling residents they failed to appear for jury duty, that a warrant has been issued for their arrest, and that they must pay a bond to avoid being arrested.
⚠️ Please remember:
❌ The Logan County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER demand payment over the phone.
❌ We will NEVER direct you to pay a bond through a kiosk, cryptocurrency, gift card, or similar method.
❌ We will NEVER ask you to provide personal, banking, or financial information over the phone to resolve a warrant or jury-duty matter.

While residents may be contacted regarding legitimate jury-duty obligations, a legitimate law enforcement officer will not threaten you with immediate arrest and demand payment over the phone.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately. Do not provide any information or payment.

25 years ago, our nation was forever changed. Nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, passengers, and countless others who showed extraordinary courage that day.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – JURY DUTY PHONE SCAM 🚨

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is once again receiving reports of fraudulent phone calls targeting local residents.

Scammers are falsely claiming to be representatives of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office or the United States Department of Justice Civil Process Division. Callers are telling residents they failed to appear for jury duty, that a warrant has been issued for their arrest, and that they must pay a bond to avoid being arrested.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone while residents may be contacted regarding legitimate jury duty obligations:

❌ We will NEVER demand payment over the phone.
❌ We will NEVER direct you to pay a bond through a kiosk or similar method.
❌ Do NOT provide personal, banking, or financial information to these callers.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Deputy Grant and Deputy Maaks on successfully graduating from the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center!

We are especially proud to recognize Deputy Grant for her outstanding achievements during the academy. Deputy Grant earned the Academic Award, Fi****ms Award, and the Tad Williams Award—an incredible accomplishment that reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

Both deputies have worked hard to reach this milestone, and we are proud to welcome them into their next chapter of serving the citizens of Logan County.

We wish them both a safe and successful career in law enforcement! 🇺🇸
