Today, we celebrate all the fathers who make a difference in the lives of their families and our community.

A special thank you to the dads who serve our community while balancing the important role of being a father. Your dedication, leadership, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

Captain Eaton and SRO Moreno attended the annual Rods and Relics event today at McBean Park. Chief Alves made an appearance earlier in the day where he selected a vehicle for the Chief’s Trophy. We really enjoyed the location switch to McBean Park—over 400 cars in attendance!

Proactive Shoplifting Arrest

Last night, LPD officers observed a suspicious vehicle possibly casing to shoplift near Ulta and Ross on Ferrari Ranch Road. Officers conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted 37-year-old Richard Ybarra and 35-year-old Melissa Curiel, both of Sacramento.

Ybarra was found to have a felony warrant out of Sacramento, in possession of drug paraphernalia, possessed credit cards belonging to other individuals, and stolen items from Ross. Curiel was cited and released from the scene while Ybarra was booked into the South Placer Jail on multiple charges.

We will continue to do everything we can to protect our businesses from theft.

Today concluded our annual active shooter training at Phoenix High School in partnership with Lincoln Professional Firefighters and the Western Placer Unified School District. We always enjoy training closely with our brothers and sisters from LFD.

Thank you to the school district for allowing us to use their facilities and providing staff as role players.
