My priority bill is OFFICIALLY headed to Governor Pillen's desk!!! LB762 requires insurance companies to cover treatment for PANS/PANDAS. This ensures kids receive necessary medical care, plus helps caregivers lighten the load and focus on treatment, not out-of-pocket expenses.
If there's one type of policy you'll see me root for again & again, it's healthy kids and healthy families🤝

Oh baby! When my wife, Britta, and I took classes to prepare for Stellan's birth, I was sooo excited to see handouts for Prenatal Plus! Since I introduced this program two years ago, dozens of at-risk moms and babies have received essential prenatal care, such as nutrition and lacation counseling. Today, the legislature voted to continue this program so future expecting mothers can receive the same support!

PANS/PANDAS Update! I'm so incredibly proud of the work we've done to advance LB762! When I introduced and prioritized this bill at the beginning of session, I knew I wanted to help Violet and Belle, but somewhere along the way, those two ended up helping me! They met with senators, shared their story, testified in committee, and asked for co-sponsors. Thanks to their advocacy, we're on our way to ensuring kids who have Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome can access the treatment and care they need to be healthy!

Priority Bill Alert👏LB762 advanced from General File! This bill is made possible by the Troupe family and their unwavering advocacy for PANS/PANDAS! There are children in Nebraska who currently need (or will someday need) treatment for these rare pediatric autoimmune disorders. Today, we're one step closer to ensuring insurance isn't a barrier to necessary treatment!

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and I'm reminded now more than ever how important it is to find ways to support and care for those who need our care the most!
I've heard from dozens of families who would be negatively impacted by DHHS's proposed waiver and assessment changes...while Governor Pillen plays tug-of-war with services, I'll continue to advocate for individuals AND caregivers (such as co-sponsoring Senator Machaela Cavanaugh's LB958!)

When I met the Troupe family last year, I immediately knew I wanted to bring a bill on their behalf! Violet and Belle both have PANS/PANDAS, a pediatric autoimmune disorder that causes abrupt onset neurological and psychiatric symptoms. Violet's treatment is covered by insurance. Belle's isn't.
LB762 holds insurance companies accountable and requires coverage for PANS/PANDAS so parents can focus on treatment to keep their kids healthy and safe. The cost of not taking action is far too high of a price for families to pay, and I'm so proud to partner with NE PANS/PANDAS Coalition on this legislation!

And just like that... we're back! Since the Prenatal Plus Program passed in 2024, dozens and dozens (!!!) of at-risk moms and babies have received essential prenatal care such as nutritional, psychosocial, and lactation counseling.
LB773, a bill to extend the Prenatal Plus Program, was heard in the Health and Human Services Committee today. Support for the Prenatal Plus Program is support for healthy moms and healthy babies🤝

Moving is already stressful, and the last thing any renter needs is an additional financial burden added to the process.
I introduced LB1007 to prohibit landlords from keeping the security deposit if tenants don’t sign the lease, so you can keep more money in your pockets (For moving. Or for dog bandanas)!
