Learning, growing, and investing in exceptional care! 📚❤️
We are proud to offer Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes right here at the North Dakota Veterans Home. In 2026, eight individuals completed their CNA training with us!
We also offer Certified Medication Technician (CMT) classes, and six of our team members recently earned their certificates. Next, they'll complete on-the-floor training.
Continuing education strengthens our team and enhances the care we provide because our Veterans deserve the very best!
Interested in joining our team and learning more about certification requirements? Contact Juli Buchholz in Human Resources at 701-683-6506 or [email protected]

Meet Norma Rasmusson, RN, Education Coordinator! Norma brings years of nursing experience and valuable knowledge to the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Technician (CMT) education programs at the North Dakota Veterans Home. We are grateful for her dedication to preparing and supporting the next generation of caregivers!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day! ☀️ Beautiful weather, delicious food, tasty treats, farm-themed entertainment, games for all ages, and tractors from yesterday and today made for a day full of fun!
A HUGE WELL DONE to the North Dakota Veterans Home Team for putting together such a fantastic event! 👏
We are incredibly grateful to EVERYONE who donated, volunteered, sponsored, participated, cooked, served, played, rode, laughed, and helped make the All-American Family Picnic such a memorable day!
And most importantly:

Saturday, August 8th was a beautiful summer day☀️, and our campus was buzzing with activity and veteran camaraderie!
The Legion Riders rolled through with an impressive lineup of motorcycles and cars, bringing plenty of excitement for our residents. Later, the North Dakota Patriot Guard joined us for a picnic, sharing meaningful conversations with our veterans and generously presenting a donation.
We’re truly grateful for their support, their time, and the authentic joy they bring to our veterans and their spouses! ❤️

250 Items for America’s 250th! 🇺🇸

That was the vision of Bismarck American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1 as they looked for a special way to support the residents of the North Dakota Veterans Home in honor of our great nation’s 250th anniversary.

These dedicated Auxiliary members organized a drive to collect 250 items from our wish list and then personally delivered the generous collection to our Veterans!

They also brought along a generous donation from ND American Legion-Bismarck Legion Post 1, adding even more meaning to their visit.

To the members of Auxiliary Unit 1 and American Legion Post 1: Thank you for your heart for Veterans and for putting that appreciation into action! ❤️🤍💙

This year's North Dakota American Legion Baseball Tournament was held right here in our hometown of Lisbon, making the experience even more special for our Veterans.

Our residents were treated like VIPs with outstanding seating, convenient parking, and a special invitation to take the field and be recognized for their service.

A heartfelt thank you to McLeod Hauge Memorial VFW Post 9067 and Auxiliary for sponsoring meals and snacks for our residents; they were thoroughly enjoyed!

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came when the players from LaMoure Post 19 took the time to shake the hand of every Veteran. That simple gesture of respect spoke volumes.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable hometown event. We are proud of our community and grateful for the incredible support shown to our Veterans. ❤️🤍💙

When we were looking through the photos from our second trip to Riding For Dreams Adaptive Riding this season, one picture stopped us in our tracks... then another... and another. ❤️

There is something truly special about these horses. Time and time again, they seem to know exactly who could use a little extra love and comfort. The quiet connection between these gentle souls and our Veterans is nothing short of magical.

Some moments don't need words. They are simply a quiet reminder of the incredible bond between people and animals.

To the people with the muscle, heart, talents, and funds to keep this amazing organization Riding For Dreams Adaptive Riding going strong, thank you!
