On 10/1/2026, Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from the East Liverpool Police Department, executed a search warrant at 734 Laura Ave. Agents located Tevin Whitson, Dorian Anderson, and Rachel Hess.

A search of the residence found 103g of suspected methamphetamine, 5g of suspected fentanyl, 3g of suspected co***ne, and a loaded G***k .380 handgun. As always, the drugs will be sent to BCI for lab testing with charges pending lab results.

The Columbiana County Sheriff's Office is attempting to identify the individual in the picture who has stolen a silver 2018 Buick Envision from a residence near Lisbon. Anyone with information is urged to contact the office at 330-424-7255. Thank you!

On 6/25/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from the Wellsville Police Department, conducted a drug interdiction operation in the Village of Wellsville.

During the operation, CCDTF Agents observed Van Lamar Evans, a.k.a. “Lil’ Mike”, exiting Dairy Queen. Agents verified Evans had an active felony warrant through Columbiana County. Agents stopped Evans in his vehicle, at which point Evans attempted to flee. Evans then fought with Agents before eventually being detained.

Just prior to the stop, Agents observed Evans drop an item out of vehicle. That item was quickly secured by other Agents in the area, which was found to contain roughly 72g of suspected fentanyl. Agents also seized $2,225 in cash during the stop.

The goal of these operations is to target drug traffickers, as well as offer treatment and recovery services to suspects of low-level drug possession crimes. CCDTF partners with Columbiana County’s Mobile Crisis Response Team, who provide peer support professionals for these operations in all areas of the County.

SCAM ALERT: An elderly person was deceived by a call claiming they won the Publisher's Clearing House. An unrequested Uber arrived to take the victim to the bank, but the driver warned them of the scam.

On 3/13/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from the Salem Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1158 South Lincoln Ave, apt. C, in Salem. Agents detained 6 individuals inside, including resident Danielle Kenst.

During a search of the residence, Agents located approximately 35-40g of suspected methamphetamine in total. Agents also recovered numerous scales, packaging material, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and drug abuse.

CCDTF requested the assistance of the Columbiana County Mobile Crisis Response Team. Peer support personnel responded to the scene and offered treatment and recovery services to residents of the apartment.

On 3/6/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from East Liverpool PD and Liverpool Twp PD, executed a search warrant at 1105 St. George St in East Liverpool. Agents located resident Nicole Moman on the front porch with suspected crack co***ne on her person.

During a search of the residence, Agents located approximately 80g of suspected co***ne and suspected crack co***ne, $25,297 in cash, and digital scales/packaging material used to facilitate drug trafficking.

02/27/2026

On 2/27/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from Wellsville PD, East Liverpool PD and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 709 Riverside Ave in Wellsville. Units were also assisted by K-9 Diva (CCSO).

In the garage, Agents located Anthony Mascarella, a.k.a. “Duke”. A search of the immediate area found approximately 245g of methamphetamine, 140g of co***ne, and 22g of fentanyl. Agents also recovered $395 in cash on Duke’s person and recovered a 9mm handgun from the primary residence.

Mascarella was taken into custody by Ohio Adult Parole and is being held on parole violations while Agents await lab results for drug charges.
