It was a pleasure being in the room while Black To The Future Action Fund launched their Black Economic Agenda. Thank you Kristen Powell Black Futures Lab for inviting me and putting in the work.

The question has been asked, how does 10% of the world’s population control 90% of its wealth? The better question is what is that 10% willing to do to maintain that?

The same could be said for white Christian Nationalism and the Republican Party. They don’t care who their standard bearer is as long as the desired result is the same. Take America back to a point where they rule. They feel that liberal laws like the Civil Rights Act, Women’s Rights, Voting Rights, and Affirmative Action taken their inalienable rights as white men away from them. Remember, this is their country.

With this in mind, it should inform us as to what we must do. Don’t lose sight of when America catches a cold, Black folks catch a 110 degree flu.

Let’s not get caught up in the noise.

I penned this article back in 2022. Project 2025 is merely just an extension of the Southern Strategy executed by White Christian Nationalist. The same White Christian Nationalist that hide behind white robes and now emboldened to puff their chest out.

The current political landscape is dominated by identity politics. This has resulted in a decrease in moderate Republicans and fiscal conservatism has become the prevailing ideology while trying to conceal the true objectives. The groundswell of support from primary voters is carrying this party’s agenda forward, and those who align with this ideology are voicing their approval loudly. Those who oppose this movement within the party are keeping mum for fear of being voted out in future primaries. We saw the lengths they were willing to go to when the aforementioned loss was so devastating to them that they not only spread misinformation but also resorted to deception and violence in an attempt to storm the Capitol and disrupt Congress’ constitutional duty to certify Biden’s election

These issues and many more receive very little media and political attention but impact our daily lives. We are also experiencing supply chain issues that drive the prices of goods up. Over 25% of goods are transported over the rails. So yes, this affects you also.

Ga Republican State Reps Kill Bill that will limit how long trains stay on tracks - Urban Politician CSX Transportation has the legal right to use the tracks through Lithonia and all of Georgia that have been granted to them by the federal government. Local municipalities have no control or oversight over this activity.

While the mainstream media is fixated on the January 6 investigations, the Black community is concentrated on more pressing issues such as the rising cost of gas and food, education, and law enforcement. Meanwhile, Trump and the Republican Party rolled out their agenda for the mid-term elections this year and the 2024 elections should they win. Their strategy! is to isolate cities and speak to suburban and rural white voters through law and order. This strategy worked in the 2016 election and if we’re not careful, this may very well work again.
