FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Little Chute, WI β€” September 14, 2026 β€” At approximately 8:10 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, Little Chute Fire Department was dispatched to the 15xx block of Vandenbroek Road in the Village of Little Chute for a reported fully involved structure fire with heavy smoke and flames showing.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a significant amount of fire throughout the structure. Due to the extent of the fire and unknown conditions inside the property, firefighters operated in a defensive mode, working from the exterior to bring the fire under control.

Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours, working to extinguish the fire and conduct a thorough overhaul of the structure to locate and eliminate any remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time and is under investigation. The structure and property are considered a total loss.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.

The Little Chute Fire Department would like to thank Fox Valley Metro Police Department, Appleton Fire Department, Kaukauna Utilities, and Outagamie County CERT for their assistance and support on scene.

We also appreciate the cooperation and patience of the residents and motorists in the area while emergency crews worked to safely manage the incident.

Remembering September 11, 2001

Today, we remember the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness shown that day.

We especially remember the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to help others. We also remember the thousands of civilians who never made it home and the countless first responders who have faced lasting impacts from that day.

Twenty-five years later. Remember. Honor. Never Forget.

From the members of the Little Chute Fire Department, we stand with our brothers and sisters in the fire service, all first responders, and everyone impacted who continue to carry the memory of September 11 with them.

Never Forget.

πŸš’ TRAINING UPDATE – RESCUE TASK FORCE (RTF) πŸš“πŸš‘

The month of August, our training nights focused on Rescue Task Force (RTF) training, an important part of preparing our department to respond effectively to a mass casualty event in our community or surrounding areas.

This training gives our firefighters a better understanding of our role, as well as the roles of law enforcement and EMS, during these incidents. Working together before an emergency happens helps ensure that when the call comes, we are prepared to operate as one team.

During the training, our members worked alongside law enforcement on:

πŸ”Ή Tactical movement through buildings
πŸ”Ή Identifying and prioritizing critically injured patients
πŸ”Ή Rapid and safe removal and transportation of victims
πŸ”Ή Radio communication and interagency protocols
πŸ”Ή Understanding command structures between Police, Fire, and EMS
πŸ”Ή Coordinating operations in a high-stress, rapidly changing environment

RTF training is about more than learning individual skills; it’s about building teamwork, communication, and trust between agencies.

This training allows us to be as prepared as possible for the worst and allow us to provide the best possible response when our community needs us.

A big thank you to our partners specifically Fox Valley Metro Police Department for working alongside us and leading this training, helping strengthen our ability to serve the community.

Train together. Communicate together. Respond together.
πŸš’πŸš“πŸš‘ One team. One mission.

Tomorrow is the first day of school! πŸŽ’πŸ“šβœοΈ

As students head back to the classroom and families begin settling into new routines, we’d like to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert. Please watch carefully for children walking, biking, and waiting for the bus.

The first few days of school can be a little hectic as everyone adjusts to new schedules and routines, so please be patient and give yourself a little extra time.

Let’s all do our part to help make the start of the school year safe and successful for everyone. Wishing all students, families, teachers, and school staff a wonderful first day! 🍎🚌

The safety of your children and our crossing guards is our highest priority. Going forward, there will be an important change for the students crossing at the intersection of North Avenue (County OO) and Freedom Road (County N) near Little Chute High School.

Crossing guards will no longer assist students crossing the north and west side of the Freedom Road and North Avenue intersection. Crossing guards will only cross students on the south and east side of the intersection (see attached photo).

Those who previously used the north or west crosswalk should instead cross at Freedom Road and Florida Avenue or North Avenue and Madison Street.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make changes to our crosswalks to help make school crossing safer for our children. We know changes to familiar traffic patterns can take some getting used to, especially during the busy morning and afternoon school rush. We appreciate everyone slowing down, paying attention, following the new crossing patterns, ang giving our crossing guards and students the time and space they need to cross safely.

πŸ†πŸš’ Jerome's Big Team 2026 Champions! πŸš’πŸ†

Every year, the Little Chute Fire Department holds one of our favorite traditions "Jerome's Big Team", a friendly competition where each Lieutenant's crew battles it out for bragging rights!

This year's challenge featured Bucket Golf, testing everyone's aim, teamwork, and maybe a little luck. After some great competition (and plenty of laughs), the 2026 Jerome's Big Team Championship belongs to Lt. Brockman's crew! πŸŒοΈβ›³

Congratulations to Lt. Brockman and his crew on earning this year's title! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped continue one of the department's great traditions. Friendly competition like this helps build the teamwork and camaraderie that make our department stronger.

Until next year... the rest of the crews have 12 months to figure out how to take the title back!
