🚨 Public Advisory – Smoke & Haze in the Area 🚨

The Little Ferry Fire Department is aware of the smoky odor and hazy conditions currently affecting our area. These conditions are the result of smoke drifting into our region from the ongoing Canadian wildfires.

At this time, we are actively monitoring the situation and there are no known large fires within Little Ferry causing these conditions.

If you see visible smoke coming from a specific location and/or have a strong odor of burning that leads you to believe there may be an active fire, please do not hesitate to call 911 so emergency responders can investigate.

Please do not assume every smoke odor is related to the wildfires if it appears to be coming from a nearby structure, vehicle, or other specific source.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and encourage residents to stay informed. If conditions change, we will provide updates as needed.

The Little Ferry Hose Company is extremely saddened to announce the passing of Ex-Chief Mike Nunziato.

Mike was a member of The Hose Company for over 50 years, serving as Chief in 1984. Mike has had an impact on every member here, always stopping in and giving the new members a story of the old times, the “good times” of firefighting. Mike was truly a Fireman’s, Fireman. If there’s anything he loved more than being a Fireman, it would definitely be the love for his classic cars, and most importantly, his family.

Mike, thank you for all your years of service, your belly laughs and your reminder to all of us to always fight the good fight. You will truly be missed brother.

A Visitation in Michael’s honor will be held on Sunday, June 14th, beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 7 P.M. Cremation will be private
