Y’all, September felt like it was 4 months in one. Our pups and handlers have been so busy assisting brave survivors. Some have been in court while others have been supported through meetings. It is such an honor to be part of many teams throughout the state helping others find their voices. Today we came together to decompress, support each other, learn new skills, and have a little fun with our pups. This truly is the best job ever!

Today we are sharing about social stories. This was a new concept to some of us when attending a session on interviewing children with autism. A social story is an easy, step-by-step how-to guide. We decided to create one for children to better understand the steps of what will happen if they disclose abuse. Hopefully knowing the end result will dispel their fear of the unknown and allow more children to stop the abuse.

Last month, most of the PAWS staff had the privilege of attending the Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas. We learned so much and want to share our new knowledge with all of you!
