Your opinion and input matter!
My name is Justice Ender, and I help to administer the National Survey on Health and Disability (NSHD), one of the largest national surveys asking people with disabilities about their experiences with health care access, housing, transportation, health insurance, community participation, and other life experiences.
This is the seventh time the NSHD has been conducted since 2018. Noelle Kurth and Dr. Kelsey Goddard from the Institute on Disability Policy Studies at the University of Kansas are the current investigators for this research.
We are asking for your help reaching people with disabilities and/or chronic health conditions and encouraging them to share their experiences living with a disability in the U.S.
The survey is open to anyone age 18 or older with a physical, mental, emotional, or health condition – including people who may not identify as having a disability.
Would you please help us spread the word?
• Share the survey: https://kuhealthsurvey.org
• Additional recruitment materials: https://ihdps.ku.edu/nshd-2026 (includes additional flyers, social media posts, videos, and images that you can download and share)
Please share the survey through your newsletters, email lists, social media, or by reaching out directly to people who may be interested in taking it. You know your community best, so please feel free to customize the message or materials to fit their interests and needs.
We have also partnered with 360 Direct Access, who will provide Deaf representatives to help participants complete the survey or answer questions via ASL.
If you have communications staff you’d like to put in touch with me, please feel free to do so. We’d also love to hear how you shared the survey.
Thank you again for supporting the NSHD and helping us reach people with disabilities across the country!

Join us in recognizing Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month this June! According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s and other dementias are progressive brain disorders that impact memory, thinking, and behavior, and they affect approximately 1 in 9 people aged 65 or older. This number is only projected to grow which is why it is important to raise awareness to educate and help people in the workplace, friends, and family understand how to interact and care for these diverse communities. Our team at iCAN is devoted to providing assistive learning/memory tools to help Arkansans navigate life at work, home, or school more independently!

Learn how you can get involved in raising awareness this month on the Alzheimer’s Association website: https://www.alz.org/abam/overview.asp
