Stay safe. Stand out! 🟧🟩

Alternative fi***rm season kicks off this weekend! Remember, hunters must wear hunter orange, chartreuse, or blaze camouflage while out in the field. If you’re hunting from a ground blind on a WMA, make sure to follow the specific hunter orange requirements for your setup as well.

Stay visible, hunt safe, and good luck out there this season! 🦌🎯

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Enforcement Division recently hosted another successful Serve Where It Matters event in Springdale at the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center.

This unique recruiting event gave high school students an up-close look at the career of an Arkansas Game Warden. Through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and conversations with our officers, students gained valuable insight into the many responsibilities and specialized opportunities within conservation law enforcement.

Our goal is simple: inspire the next generation of Arkansas Game Wardens by showing students what it means to protect our state's natural resources and serve the people of Arkansas.

A special thank you to the participating schools, students, educators, and AGFC personnel who helped make this event possible!

Low Water Levels = Exposed Hazards 🏝️

Don't let familiar waters give you a false sense of security when water levels are lower than normal. What was safe before may not be safe now. Hazardous obstructions normally hidden beneath the surface may now be exposed, such as rocks and stumps.

Slow down and pay attention. Familiarize yourself with navigation charts and water conditions ahead of time to know where possible hazards are located. A little caution now may prevent an accident later.

🔥 Hands-on learning in the great outdoors! 🌲

Earlier this week, our Wardens from Districts B-1 and C-1 partnered with Wildlife Management and Education to host the 5th annual Clinton Elementary "Survival Camp" at Scott Henderson Gulf Mountain WMA.

Around 80 students spent an action-packed day mastering key survival skills - from starting fires and building shelters to purifying water and setting traps. Huge shoutout to these young adventurers for diving into nature and building skills for life! 🪵🏕️💧

❓Did You Know❓

Funds collected from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission law convictions never leave the county where the fine occurred. The money is used to fund educational programs focused on fish, wildlife and conservation in the counties where the offense occurred.

All fine money collected by the AGFC is redistributed by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services to school and conservation districts in the county where the violation occurred in accordance with Arkansas Code Annotated 6-16-1101. A school or conservation district that wants to receive this fine money must apply online on the Division of Rural Services website.
