FIRE PREVENTION WEEK OCTOBER 4-10. 2026

This Fire Prevention Week, we’re charging into fire safety!

Everyday charging habits can make a difference when it comes to preventing lithium-ion battery fires. From the charger you use to where you charge your devices, small choices can help keep you, your family, and your home safe.

Over the next several days, we’ll be sharing important battery and charging safety tips to help you charge wisely.

Our recruits have worked extremely hard over the course of the Fire Academy and they are ready to put their training to work. Graduation is scheduled for 10am tomorrow September 29th at the Church at Rock Creek 11500 W. 36th. You are welcome to come and meet the newest additions to our fire family.

Agencies, businesses, and civilians from all over joined side‑by‑side to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Their courage continues to guide the fire service and inspire all who step forward to serve.The event was exceptional. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, local companies, civic groups, and families all climbed in solidarity. It was great to see so many show up, climb, walk, volunteer, and support the cause.

We received some messages about not being able to access the Hero Day registration form. This issue has been resolved. The deadline has been extended to September 18th.

The registration deadline for Hero Day is September 12th and we don’t want any future firefighters to miss out. This hands‑on day gives students the chance to explore fire trucks, try firefighter activities, learn safety skills, and meet the team who keeps our community safe. If your student plans to attend, please make sure to complete registration before the deadline.

We’re looking forward to a great day of learning, excitement, and community connection as we help inspire the next generation of firefighters.
