LITTLETON, MA – The Littleton Police Department has arrested a Littleton man in connection with a recent motor vehicle break-in and the subsequent use of a stolen debit card.
On October 6, 2026, the Littleton Police Department received a report from a Harwood Avenue resident that a wallet had been taken from their unlocked vehicle sometime during the overnight hours. The wallet contained cash, personal identification, and a debit card. The victim reported that, shortly after the theft, the debit card was used at a gas station on King Street, less than half a mile from where the vehicle was parked.
Officers responded to the business and, with the cooperation of store management and staff, reviewed surveillance video and transaction records. Investigators were able to identify the suspect from the surveillance video, store records, and information developed with the assistance of the Acton Police Department.
On October 9, 2026, Ayer District Court issued a warrant for Kyle Smith (DOB: 06/19/1992). That evening, Littleton officers located Smith at his residence and placed him under arrest. He was held without bail and transported to the Billerica House of Correction. On October 13, 2026, Smith was arraigned at Ayer District Court and held on bail.
Smith is currently charged with M.G.L. c. 266, s. 30, Larceny under $1,200 (from a Motor Vehicle); M.G.L. c. 266, s. 37B, Receiving a Stolen Credit Card; and M.G.L. c. 266, s. 37C, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card under $1,200. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. This investigation remains ongoing, and as a result, additional charges may be forthcoming.
As previously announced, Smith was arrested on September 9, 2026, in connection with a series of motor vehicle break-ins on Buttonwood Way and Nashoba Road.
The Littleton Police Department would like to thank the Acton Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
