Speak up. Share what you know. Learn from what happens. Stay safe. ⚡

NEPPA Manager of Safety & Training Codie Perry took that message to Blacksburg, Virginia, last week as he presented “Removing the Stigma from Sharing” at the MEPAV Engineering & Operations Workshop.

Building a strong safety culture means making it easier for people to talk about incidents, hazards and lessons learned. The more we share, the more we can learn from each other.

Proud to see Codie representing NEPPA and bringing the safety conversation beyond New England!

⚡ Careers in Energy Week is a great time to celebrate the people who keep our industry moving forward.

At NEPPA, we’re lucky to see so many people come through our training programs and conferences throughout their careers. From those just getting started to experienced professionals continuing to build their skills, it’s rewarding to watch them learn, grow and take the next step in their energy careers.

We’re proud to play a small part in supporting the people behind public power. 💪⚡

Sometimes the job is putting it in. Sometimes the job is getting it OUT. 👊

Last week’s URD crew tackled the removal of a de-energized 23kV, 500 aluminum feeder getaway as part of the prep for a new underground line.

Tested dead. Procedures followed. Time to get to work!

Public Power is more than keeping the lights on. It’s about powering the communities we call home. ⚡

From the power lines running through our neighborhoods to the crews working behind the scenes, public power utilities are there every day to provide safe, reliable, community-focused electric service.

There are nearly 2,000 public power utilities across the country, serving more than 55 million Americans in communities large and small.

This Public Power Week, NEPPA is proud to celebrate all of our public power utility members and the people who keep their communities powered.

Your Community. Your Utility. Your Power.

🏍️ Off the Grid is back! Meet Jake Kennedy from Shamrock Power Sales!

This one is a little different because Jake was nominated by his son, who wanted to share how proud he is of his dad and all he’s accomplished in the utility industry.

When Jake isn’t working as a Sales Engineer, he’s hitting the open road on one of his motorcycles. From the lakes and mountains to the ocean, Jake loves exploring new places, riding with family and friends, and putting some miles behind him. He even rode out to Sturgis, South Dakota, for Bike Week in 2023!

His son says some of his favorite memories are the countless hours they spent riding together through New Hampshire. ❤️

And apparently, if December weather cooperates, you might even spot “Jakey Claus” cruising around town in a full Santa suit. 🎅🏍️

There’s a lot of life experience that carries from work to the open road, too. Jake says focus, problem-solving, and rolling with the unexpected are skills that serve him well in both worlds.

We love getting to know the people behind public power and the passions that keep them going Off the Grid.

Have a hobby, passion, or hidden talent outside of work? We want to feature you next! Submit your story through our Off the Grid form: https://forms.gle/1RhNQ1JTLPDQXfcVA
