Grimm has a problem… his family wants to come to Livermore Falls for Halloween. 💀🎃

Every dollar donated to the LFFD Haunted House Upgrade Fund helps open the door a little wider and bring another member of Grimm’s family into our world.

Aunt Mabel, Aunt Gertrude, Aunt Mildred, Grandmother Vesper, Cousin Crowley, Grandpa Mordecai… and unfortunately, Timmy.

Stop using a device if the battery:

🔥 Feels unusually warm
👃 Smells strange
🔊 Makes popping noises
🔋 Changes shape or color
💨 Begins smoking

A damaged battery can overheat and start a fire.

If something doesn’t seem right, stop using it.

🍂 WEATHER READY WEDNESDAY | Wet Leaves Can Be Slippery

Fall has officially arrived, and before long our roads will be covered with leaves.

While they may look harmless, wet leaves can reduce traction, particularly when they collect on curves, hills, intersections, and along the edges of roadways.

As you travel this fall:

🚗 Slow down when approaching areas covered with wet leaves.
↔️ Increase your following distance and give yourself more room to stop.
🛑 Avoid sudden braking or sharp steering on leaf-covered pavement.
🌧️ Use extra caution after rain, when leaves can become especially slick.
🌡️ Watch those cool mornings. As temperatures continue dropping later this fall, wet surfaces can eventually become icy surfaces.

And remember: piles of leaves can also hide potholes, road edges, standing water, and other hazards underneath.

Enjoy Maine's fall colors—but once those colors reach the roadway, give yourself a little extra time and space.

Thank you to Spruce Mountain Primary School for inviting the Livermore Falls Fire Department to spend some time with the students and talk about fire safety!

We always appreciate the opportunity to help teach our youngest community members about staying safe at home and what to do in an emergency.

🔋 Where you charge matters.

Charge phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices on a hard, flat surface.

Beds, couches, pillows, and blankets can trap heat and block airflow, allowing a battery to overheat.

Hard surface. Safer charge.

A huge thank you to Zennie’s Hometown Bakes for donating snack-size Goldfish crackers for this year’s LFFD Haunted House! 🎃

These will give us another option for kids who may not be able to have candy, and we truly appreciate Zennie’s helping us make sure there’s something for everyone.
