Please discard all your expired medications safely.

Prescription drugs can undo our work to protect our community, environment, and wildlife when they get flushed down drains. 💊💉The wastewater treatment process cannot catch or remove these dissolved chemicals from wastewater, sending them directly to the where they can cause damage to the natural environment, and us.

🏡 It's the little things that add up when it comes to being happy to call Livermore home.

Much of the work that completes each week goes unnoticed, mainly because we're up before the 🌅dawn getting our work done, so you can enjoy your city without us in the way.

As part of our regular check up in the lifecycle of all of our notable places, we noticed that our flagpole was looking in need of TLC.

For a little bit of , the wooden flagpole displayed at the Veterans Memorial in Carnegie Park is a preserved 40-foot portion of Livermore’s original 130’ Oregon Pine flagpole that was installed in 1905 at the downtown intersection of First Street and Livermore Avenue. In 2005, during the downtown revitalization project, the historic wooden pole was replaced with a new 130-foot fiberglass flagpole. Today, the preserved section of the flagpole in Carnegie Park continues to stand proudly while displaying the United States flag over the Veterans Memorial and serving as a piece of Livermore history!

🛠️ Our team completed its repair this week so our flagpole can carry our flags safely.

If you were up early and saw our team, thanks for making space for them to complete their tasks. 👷🙌

It's not often you see our performing its inspections, but it's a full-time job for one of our teams.

Since last year, our Source Control team has inspected 393 facilities for stormwater pollution prevention and compliance. Each inspection takes an average of 2.5 hours, in total about 983 hours in the last year.

As our gets closer, those inspections help us to keep pollution from flowing into the .

It's all part of the prep we do each year. Visit https://www.livermoreca.gov/our-community/emergency-preparedness/preparedness/storm-preparedness for complete details on the steps you can take to be prepared this winter.

🛠️ Many of the vital tasks that Public Works performs each week are unseen by the public. Our work is to ensure you never need to worry about the safety of your City's infrastructure and facilities. 🏢

🔋 Recently, we upgraded the Uninterruptible Power Supply which has a 15-year lifecycle. We did so to ensure continuous power to critical building systems during power outages and fluctuations, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime. ⚡

🛡️ By replacing aging components that may be more prone to faults, breakdowns, and unexpected failures, we're lowering the risk of fire and minimizing disruptions to building operations, IT infrastructure, security systems, and other essential services.

💡 The new power supply system is more dependable and requires less maintenance which keeps our costs down and ensures compatibility with modern equipment, alarms, and diagnostics, allowing potential issues to be identified before they become critical.

🔧 Lastly, by replacing an obsolete system, we're helping to ensure access to replacement parts, manufacturer support, and qualified maintenance services.

residents likely recognize Tony for his love of feeding the ducks 🦆 and waving👋 to neighbors near Bluebell Drive, fishing, and working on his Jeep. 🛻

His family misses him dearly and we're grateful that he made Livermore such a friendly place to be.
