Big News For The Tri-Valley!
Livermore Valley Named W**e Enthusiast’s 2026 American W**e Region of the Year!!

I’m proud of the Livermore Valley for being recognized by W**e Enthusiast as its 2026 American W**e Region of the Year. We have a long history of w**emaking here, and this recognition shines a well-deserved spotlight on our local w**eries, growers, and the people who make our w**e community so special.

When our local w**e community reached out for greater support and opportunities to promote Livermore with w**e regions around the world, our office helped to establish the Global Artisan Vintners Alliance (Global AVA), headquartered right here in Livermore. The alliance connects w**e communities internationally and creates new opportunities for our local w**eries.

Congratulations to the Livermore Valley W**e, The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance, and all of the local vintners who continue to put our region on the map.

Thank you to Livermore Public Library for hosting a presentation by Avshalom Weinstein, Cofounder of the Violins of Hope program, which will be at The Bankhead LVA on Sunday and Monday. We heard the remarkable story of the violins that survived the Holocaust and the stories of their original owners. Thank you to Larry Lagin for bringing this important program to Livermore.

It was so nice to join Tri-Valley Haven's annual Candlelight March in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We walked through Livermore Downtown to honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence, and stand together in support of safer communities. Thank you to all the people eating or walking downtown who called out their support. 💜💙

Thank you to Kathy Young for inviting me to attend the Tri-Valley NonProfit Alliance's Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund grant presentation. There were 60 applicants in this cycle, and they were able to award grants to 11 of the nonprofits.

It's always wonderful to hear about the work of our nonprofits and how they're supporting our community members. Here are some photos of them talking about their work and receiving a big check. 😁 Thank you to TVNPA for supporting our supporters!

We had a special recognition at tonight's City Council meeting. Mayor Marchand presented the Mayor's Certificate of Commendation to Kyle Schempp for his heroic response in July when he saved the life of a two-year-old, who almost downed in an apartment complex pool. According to news reports, Mr. Schempp was passing by, saw what was happening, and dove into the pool to rescue the boy. We're so grateful for his quick action. 👏👏

We had the best time playing bingo at the annual Goodness Village spaghetti dinner at the Sunshine Saloon Sports Bar & Grill. Daniel Curtis was a terrific bingo emcee. I didn't win any bingo games, but I did win the mystery prize in the raffle. If you want to know what's in the box, you'll have to swipe through to the last photo. 😁

Councilmember Steven Dunbar and I had a great time at the celebration at in Livermore Downtown on Saturday night, made more special this year by having the exhibit as our backdrop. There was just so much beauty everywhere we looked. It's amazing the things our community members can do.
