Jack Brewster, award-winning journalist and creator of Newsreel, will be at Civic Center Library to discuss Information Devolution on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026. He'll cover how cellphones, social media, and AI have rewired how we discover world events, how this shift has transformed our politics, and what any of us can do to take back control. Adults and teens are invited to this event which starts at 7 p.m.

Livermore Public Library now provides patrons access to the Newsreel app β€” trustworthy, nonpartisan news with daily briefings, quizzes, and streaks. No ads, no agenda. Journalist-written and fact-checked.

We have access to more information than ever before, yet our trust in it has never been lower. Brewster traced the false claim about Haitian migrants eating pets back to its source. He has reported on AI for the WSJ, extremist movements for Forbes, and his work has been nominated for a Pulitzer.
