🩷🎀🩷 Breast Cancer Awareness At TDCJ - Allan B. Polunsky Unit : October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about a disease that affects millions of individuals and families worldwide. This month, the staff at Polunsky joined the global effort by distributing pink breast cancer awareness bags 👛.

We took part in this initiative to show our solidarity with survivors, supporting those currently fighting, and honoring the memory of the loved ones we have lost. Within a Correctional setting, bringing visibility to health campaigns like this serves as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity.

Distributing these bags is important because awareness saves lives. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers, but early detection through regular screenings, mammograms, and self exams significantly increases chances of successful treatment. By visibly championing this cause, we help spark vital conversations about health, encourage proactive medical checkups, and remind everyone - staff, residents, and families alike- that no one has to face this battle alone.

Thank you to everyone at the Polunsky unit for contributing to spreading this life-saving message 🌸💗
