🍲 **IT’S GUMBO TIME!** 🍲

Get your pots ready! The library is excited to host our **2nd Annual Gumbo Cook-Off** on Thursday, November 12. Think you have what it takes to be crowned this year’s Gumbo Cook-Off Champion? We’re looking for our best gumbo cooks to compete for **CASH PRIZES!** 💰

🥇 1st Place: $200
🥈 2nd Place: $100
🥉 3rd Place: $50

⚠️ **COOKS, TAKE NOTE!** We only have **15 spots available** for contestants, so don’t wait! Call the library or stop by in person to sign up before all the spots are filled. The deadline to sign up is **November 6**. All contestants must have a valid Food Handler Certificate and bring a copy with them.

Not a cook? No problem! 🎉 We welcome all community members to come out, sample the competition, and help us judge as we crown our next Gumbo Cook-Off Champion! 👑

Bring your appetite, bring your friends, and come ready for some delicious gumbo and community fun!

📚 New Books at the Tribal Library! 📚

We are so grateful to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for selecting the Alabama-Coushatta Tribal Library to receive an IMLS Native American Library Services: Basic Grant!

Because of this funding, we were able to purchase many new titles for our library, including young adult fiction, adult fiction, nonfiction, and large print books.

We are excited to add these new books to our collection and provide our community with even more opportunities to read, learn, and discover something new. 📖❤️

📚✨ Happy International Literacy Day from the Alabama-Coushatta Tribal Library! ✨📚

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Literacy Day with our friends from daycare and Head Start! 💕📖
We gathered together for a fun storytime featuring Alpha Oops! The Day Z Went First by Alethea Kontis, a silly and imaginative alphabet adventure where the letters decide to shake things up and do things a little differently!

After our story, we headed outside for a very special library train ride! 🚂💨 The kids had SO much fun riding around, laughing, waving, and enjoying the beautiful day together. 🥰
We are so happy to welcome our youngest readers into the library and to celebrate the joy of books, reading, learning, and imagination with them! 📚❤️

Thank you to all of our daycare and Head Start friends for spending Literacy Day with us. We loved having you here, and we can’t wait for you to visit us again soon! 🚂📖✨

Our biggest Book Club turnout yet! 📚🤎 What a great time we had discussing Verity! 👀📖

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did! There was definitely A LOT to talk about, and we only wish we had more time because we could’ve kept going! 😂

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in on the conversation. We’re already excited for our next book club adventure… but first, we CAN’T WAIT to see Verity come to life on the big screen! 🎬🍿👀
