This month, our Atlantic Air 1 & Air 3 crews participated in AMRM, aka “Air Medical Resource Management”. Along with lectures about flight physiology and safety management, they also had hands-on survival training at a local Scout camp. They practiced starting fires, orienteering, and building shelter from supplies in our survival kits. Safety is and always will be our #1 priority, and ensuring our crews have every tool they need to be safe and successful in their missions is paramount.

In addition to scene flights, Atlantic Air flight teams frequently transport critically ill patients from one facility to another, where the patient can receive specialized intensive care, not available at the original facility.

The Flight Clinicians are proficient in monitoring and transporting patients by air who are being supported by Cardiac balloon pumps , multiple intravenous medication infusions, intravenous blood products, specialized heart monitoring and respiratory ventilators... sometimes all at the same time.

In addition to transporting within New Jersey, we have transported critical patients to hospitals in Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Baltimore. ( Yes, some of these flights necessitate fuel stops, that's a whole other level of logistics..)

"Take your child to work day" was celebrated last Thursday. Air 1 made the tri County circuit, first up Morris County. Thank you to the office of law and public safety and the Morris County Sherrifs office for the invite, as you can see there was a great turn out !!!

Today we honor our 6 amazing pilots and pilots everywhere who do an incredible job keeping everyone in the air and on the ground safe. Happy Pilot’s day!

World Pilots’ Day was started to commemorate the first flight of Turkey’s first pilot on April 26, 1912 and is celebrated annually on April 26th.
