TRANSPARENCY IN THE SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION!

First, I respect the results of the election and wish Chris Carrell well in his new role on the school board. But I feel I must be transparent about the real reason I ran against Chris.

On February 13th, before filing my paperwork for the school board election, I asked a simple question:
“Who else is running for school board?”

Before this year, information on other candidate filings was openly shared. However, this time—Llano ISD administration REFUSED to answer my question — multiple times.

So I had to make a blind decision on which Place to file —without candidate filing information that used to be public.

That refusal to answer my question CHANGED THIS ELECTION. And here’s why that matters…

Texas Election Code §141.035 is clear: candidate applications are public record immediately upon filing!

That’s not a suggestion. That’s the law!

If that public information had been shared with me, I would not have run for Place 4 against Coach Carrell because his race was already CONTESTED by Jeff Scoggins.

Instead, I would have chosen to run in the UNCONTESTED Place 3 race.

That means Llano ISD voters would’ve had THREE contested races instead of just two.

Voters lost a choice because Llano ISD refused to share public information in direct violation of Texas Election Code.

That’s not a campaign issue. That’s a public trust issue.

Transparency shouldn’t depend on the election cycle or the whim of the administration.

Should district administration be allowed to withhold public election information?

CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Carrell. I genuinely wish him the very best as he steps into serving our district as trustee. I’ve reached out and I’m available to work together to improve Llano ISD (especially in expanding opportunities in the arts, including adding a choir program for our students).

THANK YOU to everyone who supported me in this campaign. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with so many of you, getting to know you, and hearing your concerns and visions for our schools. I’m grateful for every conversation you shared with me. Thank you again for your support and kindness!

Thanks for voting, Precinct 102!

Tonight, I spoke to the school board about how YOU - the community - is asking for more support of the arts - specifically, requesting that administration examine the addition of a choir director for the 2026-2027 school year.

If elected to the Llano ISD school board, I will use my 20+ years experience in public engagement to ensure that YOU have a voice on the board!

✅ Early Voting ends Tuesday!
✅ Election Day is Saturday

What other things would you like the school board to know?
