Last year’s Christmas tree painting program with Clayful creations was a huge hit, and we’d love to bring another festive ceramics workshop to the Library! But first, we need to gauge interest before scheduling.

Which ceramic would YOU like to paint? 🎅

Comment below with your favorite! Your feedback will help us decide which options to offer. This is just an interest check, not a registration, so let us know what you’d love to paint! ❤️

As Banned Books Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that we may not all agree with every book on our shelves and that’s okay! What one person finds meaningful, another might dislike or disagree with.

But it isn’t a library’s place to decide what everyone should or shouldn’t be allowed to read. Libraries exist to provide access to a wide range of ideas, perspectives, and stories, so that everyone can make their own choices.

As Jo Godwin put it:

“A truly great library contains something in it to offend everyone.”

Here’s to keeping our shelves full of books that challenge us, make us think, and sometimes even make us uncomfortable. 📚

We’ve reached the #1 most challenged book of 2025!

Sold has been challenged for sexual content and its depiction of r**e and sexual exploitation.

So why does this matter? Sold tackles an incredibly difficult subject, but telling these stories can help readers understand exploitation, build empathy, and learn about experiences far different from their own.

Today’s featured books are a tie for 5th place and 4th place on the top 11 Banned Books of 2025.

Last Night at the Telegraph Club has been challenged for LGBTQ+ content and sexual content. (You can find this in the YA Section under F Lo)

Empire of Storms has been challenged for sexual content and violence. (You can find this in the YA Section under F Maa)

So why does this matter? Both books offer readers stories and perspectives that can be meaningful, thought-provoking, and relatable. Restricting access means taking away the opportunity for readers to encounter stories that may help them understand themselves or experiences different from their own.

Every day during Banned Books Week we will be highlighting books from the American Library Association’s list of the most challenged books of 2025. Today’s featured books are tied for 8th place on this list.

Storm and Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout has been challenged for sexual content and language.

Looking for Alaska by John Green has been challenged for sexual content, offensive language, and concerns that it is unsuitable for its intended age group. (You can find this in the YA Section under F Gre)
