One day, this could be what a military funeral looks like.
No volunteers.
No rifle salute.
No sounding of Taps.
No flag presentation delivered by someone who understands the weight of that moment because they once wore the uniform themselves.
Across the country, veteran honor guards are facing a serious decline in membership. Many of the men and women who have faithfully carried out these final military rites for decades are aging, while fewer new volunteers are stepping forward to take their place.
If nothing changes, the traditions that have honored our nation’s heroes for generations could begin to disappear.
At Operation Honor Guard, we are working to support honor guards, raise awareness, recruit new members, and help ensure every eligible veteran continues to receive the dignified farewell they earned through service to our country.
Because no veteran should leave this world without honor.

Help make meaningful change in our community! $20 a month is less than a coffee budget.
💛 What if 100 people in Caldwell County committed to just $20/month?
That would mean:
➡️ $2,000 every month
➡️ Consistent, reliable help
➡️ Real change for our neighbors experiencing homelessness
We’re launching “THE 100. $20/Month.”
Will you be one of the 100?

Young people all across the nation recorded audio essays on the topic "How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?" for the Voice of Democracy competition. And the winner is in!
Congratulations to Olivia Drewniak from Bath, Maine. She will receive a $35,000 scholarship!
You REALLY should take the time to listen to her essay. It brought my office to tears. You can also listen to the Texas Winner at the link below as well.
This is a VFW Guided Program, so if you are interested in next year's scholarship program, reach out to your local VFW.

Thank you Little Lions!!
Clear Fork Elementary Little Lion Leaders Club collected an incredible 345 hygiene items to support their "Spring Into Self Care" drive, for those less fortunate in the Community. Students today got to visit with CCHC Member's Sara L. & Erica S., and asked some really good questions about homeless students and families we work with. THANK YOU LITTLE LIONS!
In 2025, this same group of caring students reached out to see what the families CCHC serve need and they went out on their own and collected 365 pairs of socks. YOU ROCK LITTLE LIONS!
