What are the wildflowers blooming in Lockhart State Park?

You can find a whole variety of native wildflowers dotting park trails and unmowed areas! Here are some of the current bloomers: firewheels, dayflowers, prairie coneflowers, wild petunias, prairie verbena, texas lantana, zexmania, texas thistle, and engelmann's daisy. What flowers have you seen lately?

Come to Lockhart State Park for a fun and FREE outdoor skills workshop exclusively for girls ages 10-18!

Join us on Saturday, May 30 for a morning of archery, fishing, and air rifle! No experience needed and all equipment provided. This workshop is FREE for all participants and their families. We're even going to raffle off some prizes at the end!

Taking care of our greens is a labor of love. Yesterday our maintenance rangers spent several hours, with a bucket and needle nosed pliers, picking weeds out of the #5 green.

🌞💦 POOL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! 💦🌞

We’re excited to announce that the Lockhart State Park swimming pool opens for the season on May 23rd! Come beat the Texas heat, enjoy a day at the park, and make a splash with family and friends.

Here’s what you need to know before you dive in:
• Pool Season: Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (closed on Wednesdays).
• Open Swim Hours:
• Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 11:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. (last entry 6 p.m.)
• Sat & Sun: Noon–6:30 p.m. (last entry 6 p.m.)
• Lap Swim: Sat & Sun, 11 a.m.–noon
• Pool Tickets: Sold in person only at park headquarters the day of your visit. (Day passes or camping permits can be purchased online, but pool tickets cannot.)
• Fees:
• Kids 5 & under: Free
• Kids 6–12: $1
• Ages 13+: $2

A few other important notes:
• Children under 15 must be supervised by an adult 18+
• No alcohol or pets inside the pool area
• Life jackets and pool noodles are available to borrow
• Weather can affect pool operations—heavy rain or thunder means a temporary safety break
• Party at the pool? Yes! Just remember it stays open to all guests

The Golf Course is closed today, but don't let that bring you down! Our greenskeeper is hard at work sanding the greens. Sanding the greens improves turf health, smoothness, firmness, and overall playability by managing organic matter, leveling the surface, and enhancing drainage.
