❤️🤍 Learning, Kindness, and Growing Together at Lockney Elementary!

It’s been a busy couple of days at Lockney Elementary, and our Little Longhorns have been learning in so many wonderful ways!

🕷️ Pre-K Spider Fun! 🕸️
Our Pre-K students got hands-on with learning as they created spiderwebs using paper plates and yarn! After reading The Very Busy Spider, they practiced sequencing using first, second, third, and fourth. What a fun way to build literacy and fine-motor skills!

📚 5th Grade Historians at Work!
Our fifth graders have been diving into their reading about the Mayan civilization! Students worked together to create timelines, answer questions, and use information from the text to deepen their understanding of history. We love seeing our students thinking, reading, and learning together!

🧡 Unity Day — Choose Kindness!
Yesterday, our Little Longhorns and staff wore orange to stand together against bullying! Unity Day reminds us that kindness matters, everyone belongs, and we all have a part in making our school a safe and welcoming place.

🌱 Every classroom, every activity, every day is another opportunity to GROW!

We love seeing our Little Longhorns learning, working together, and showing kindness along the way!

❤️🤍 Proud to be a Longhorn!

Due to the weather, Lockney Elementary students will be bused to the Junior High for the pep rally.

If your child does not plan to attend the pep rally, please make arrangements to pick them up from the elementary before 2:45 PM.
