🎨 Students are invited to enter the Blount County Visual Arts Exhibition! Flyers with information and entry forms are available outside Mrs. Dake’s office. All artwork must be submitted to Mrs. Dake by 8:00 a.m. on November 17 so we can deliver it to the Board of Education by the deadline.

We have updates to our visitor management system, Raptor Safe! This app helps us provide a secure visitor check-in process and supports the safety and security of our students.

As always, all visitors must check in at the school office upon arrival. This requirement has not changed. To help make your check-in quicker, you may preregister by using the information provided with this post to set up your Raptor Safe account. Preregistered visitors must still check in at the office.

Thank you for helping us keep our students and school safe! 💚

Congratulations Ms. Weldon!

We are so proud to celebrate our very own librarian, Ms. Grindl Weldon, on receiving the 2026 Herman Moore LAMP Award of Exceptional Service for High School Libraries at the Alabama Library Expo!

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to Alabama libraries over an extended period of time. Ms. Weldon was selected as this year’s high school recipient, representing high school libraries across the state!

A school library is so much more than books and shelves. It is a place where students discover new interests, explore new possibilities, find encouragement, and develop a love for learning. Through her dedication to our students and her passion for what she does, Ms. Weldon makes our library a very special place in our school!

This award is a wonderful reflection of the lasting impact she has made through her service to students, education, and the library profession. We are incredibly thankful to have her as part of our Hornet family!

Congratulations, Ms. Weldon, on this well-deserved honor! We are so proud of you! 💚
