Congratulations to C/ Capt. Spaulding and C/ Murphy on their well-deserved recognition!

Last week, C/ Murphy was awarded the Top Stick Award, a weekly cadet-nominated recognition for consistently demonstrating excellence, dedication, and a willingness to go above and beyond.

C/ Capt. Spaulding was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in recognition of his outstanding dedication and hard work in planning, coordinating, and executing Escape & Evasion over the past several months.

Homecoming Weekend 💙🐂

Det 860 had a busy Homecoming Weekend! We kicked things off by marching in the USU Homecoming Parade on October 26, followed by a tailgate before heading to the stadium. Cadets also supported the game through Honor Guard and the Push-Up Crew!

A great weekend to represent our Detachment and be part of the Aggie community! Go Aggies!

This past week, cadets stepped up their drill and marching skills with advanced movements and procedures.

Training included column and flanking movements, right and left steps, half steps, double time, route step, building entry procedures, column of files, change of command, and road guard procedures.

From precision on the drill pad to moving as a team, cadets continued building confidence, discipline, and leadership one step at a time.

ODT: Escape & Evasion!

On 11–12 September 2026, Det 860 hosted cadets from across the Northwest for a nighttime Escape & Evasion training event.

GMC teams navigated through the darkness while evading roaming POC teams, working together to complete objectives without being detected.

The event challenged cadets to communicate, make decisions under pressure, adapt to changing conditions, and rely on their teammates to accomplish the mission.

A great night of teamwork, leadership development, and problem-solving outside the classroom.
