A Heat Advisory will come into effect Saturday and Sunday across the Sonoma Coastal Range, North Bay interior mountains, the San Francisco Bay Shoreline, the East Bay and South Bay, the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Santa Lucia range, the southern Salinas Valley, and the interior mountains of Monterey and San Benito Counties. Inland highs in the middle 90s to near 103 can cause heat-related illnesses if outdoors for long periods, especially with physical exertion, and mild overnight lows from the upper 60s to middle 70s in the higher elevations will limit overnight recoveries. Drink plenty of water or sports drinks, shift outdoor activities to cooler times of the day, take frequent breaks in air conditioned spaces or the shade, and never leave people or pets in unattended vehicles!
