Every year, the Great Prairie Trail CROP Hunger Walk brings our community together for one important reason: to help end hunger.

And right here in our own neighborhoods, some incredible organizations are working every day to make that mission a reality.

Thank you Diane Lindsay Piano & Voice for this very generous donation. Diane and her students raised $1,300 thanks to their hard work and commitment. We are grateful!

33 students participated in our Fall Fundraiser for The Outreach House! Students raised $1,300 by logging 19,700 minutes from August 17 - October 2 and we received generous financial support from student families. A four-cent multiplier was used to achieve our amazing practicing goal. “I’m so proud of my students hard work and commitment to The Outreach House. The Special Olympics Illinois- Region B team brought their A-game to The Outreach House! 💚

With so many clothing donations coming through our doors, keeping everything sorted and ready for our guests is no small feat. But this awesome crew jumped right in, rolled up their sleeves, and helped us tackle those piles of clothing!

Thanks to their hard work, we're one step closer to getting more clothes onto our racks and into the hands of neighbors who need them.

❤️ Looking for a meaningful way to spend time together as a family? Volunteer together at The Outreach House!

Volunteering isn't just for adults! It's a wonderful way for parents, grandparents, and kids to spend quality time together while giving back to their community.

Whether you're sorting donated clothing, stocking shelves, or organizing supplies, your family can make a real difference for our neighbors in need. And along the way, kids learn valuable lessons about kindness, compassion, and helping others!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Here's what families need to know:

⭐ Children ages 13 and older are welcome to volunteer.

⭐ Volunteers ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

⭐ All new volunteers must register and attend a volunteer orientation before getting started.

Some volunteer opportunities and shifts may have additional age restrictions, so please check with us before scheduling your family.

🏆 We have a very special volunteer to celebrate!

Please join us in congratulating Lynn Moist, Lombard's 2026 Senior Man of the Year.

If you’ve ever dropped off donations at The Outreach House, there's a good chance Lynn was right there to help. He’s a master with our pallet jack and somehow manages to make moving pallets look easy.

Rain, wind, snow, and sometimes subzero temps (as seen in the diaper photo), it doesn’t matter. Lynn shows up. Congratulations, Lynn! We’re lucky to have you on our team. 💚

🍂 Warm Clothes, Warm Hearts! ❤️

With colder weather settling in, we've been busy getting our clothing closets ready to help our neighbors stay warm this fall and winter. And thanks to some wonderful helpers, we're one step closer!

A big, heartfelt THANK YOU to the students from Calvary Christian School for spending time with us at The Outreach House! 💚

These students rolled up their sleeves and got right to work sorting, organizing, and putting out warm fall and winter clothing for our guests to shop. Their helping hands made a big difference, and we truly appreciated their energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to pitch in wherever needed!

Because of their hard work, our guests have more warm clothing to choose from as the temperatures drop. 🧥

We love welcoming young volunteers into The Outreach House and showing them how even a few hours of their time can make a real difference for their neighbors.

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY for the Kids Clothing Swap (10/17)! We'll see everyone at the Villa Park Library from 10AM - 2PM. No registration required.

Our team has put so much time, love, and care into setting everything up to make sure tomorrow runs smoothly, and create a great experience for everyone. We are so proud, and excited to host another 100% FREE swap.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have a massive selection of quality kids' clothes—from Pokémon shirts and everyday wear to brand-new dresses, dress shoes, and Halloween costumes!

(Speaking of costumes: if you’re heading to the Halloween Happening tonight (10/16), we’ll see you there for the Costume Swap!)

🧁 Don't forget: We’re also holding a Bake Sale to raise funds for The Outreach House! (Cash is preferred for the bake sale!)
